History of Sneakers


It all started in the late 1870s, sneakers were known as pilimsolls. which draws inspiration and comparison from the horizontal plimsoll line on a ship's hull. The first sneaker company was born in 1895 named J.W. Foster and Sons. They started making shoes for althetic purposes. Soon after they became more popular for leisure and outdoor activities. In the early 1900s, the demand for sneakers started soaring. Seeing this, Marquis Converse, in 1917 created his own company, Converse All Star. Even now, in 2022 the hype for it never fell off. In today's generation the collabarations between basketball players and sneaker comapanies are massive. it was all started when Converse made their first collab with Chuck Taylor, one of  stars of Indiana Hoops........
